Yoga Therapies is the only Whitsundays dedicated yoga studio and longest established yoga community in Airlie Beach. We pride ourselves on housing the most passionate, experienced and knowledgable teachers in the area and beyond. We believe that yoga is not a one-dimensional practise and our classes are aimed to reach students of every layer of their physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual being. We offer regular classes, courses and workshops with the intention of providing our students as much exposure, information, discovery and enjoyment of yoga practise as possible.

Meaghan is the founder of Yoga Therapies. She is an Anusara Inspired teacher & a Senior Teacher with Yoga Australia. With over 12 years teaching experience and over 1500 hours of ongoing trainings and workshops under her belt, ranging from Ayurveda to Yoga Therapy, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her classes. Her first exposure to yoga was through Iyengar classes where an appreciation for correct body alignment was harnessed, she then went on to dabble in Ashtanga & Vinyasa and completed her teacher training and has been teaching Hatha yoga since 2004. But it was not until Meaghan encountered the teachings of Anusara Yoga that she was truly inspired. Anusara Yoga is a fluid and dynamic style of Hatha Yoga which incorporates intelligent alignment & sequencing principles as well as exploring heart oriented themes through practise. Meaghan teaches a broad range of classes designed to connect you more fully to your breath & body, as well as opening up and exploring the potential of your heart. Through consistent dedication to her own practice as well as an insatiable desire for continued learning with some some of the worlds best teachers Meaghan continues to be excited and inspired by her own discoveries on the mat. Meaghan applies great effort in sharing these discoveries with her students in a way that is both insightful and fun and looks to investigate, challenge and break-down the pre-conceived notions that we have about our own limitations and our potential as human beings.

Margaux is an inspired and highly dedicated Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist who also works in the field of Occupational Therapy.Since her first exposure to yoga whilst backpacking in India, Margaux has completed over 1000 hours of study & training, including an advanced diploma, applied anatomy and physiology, yoga therapy, philosophy, Tantra, meditation and pranayama. With trainings with some of the worlds best teachers and over 7 years teaching experience under her belt Margaux is credited as another of Yoga Therapies senior teachers. Margaux brings her background of working in rehabilitation into her yoga teaching and uses her skill set of understanding human movement and movement dysfunction due to injury or illness to make her yoga classes accessible for everybody. Margaux does this with her Occupational therapy background experience by grading, modifying and adapting traditional poses to a studentgs’ individual needs so they can practice with comfort, ease and relaxation. No matter if it’s a strong dynamic class or a gentle style, Margaux has a focus of teaching yoga as a moving meditation and has a passion for teaching pranayama & meditation as essential components of any yoga practise. Relishing her latest role as a mother, Margaux also offers her comprehensive and insightful Pre-natal yoga course and workshops to prepare you for motherhood exclusively at the Yoga Therapies studio.

With a back ground in various styles of Yoga including hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga and anusara. Issy’s classes reflect a modern physical yoga practise, flowing with your own rhythm and emphasising organic movement. Strength and Flexibility are balanced through thoughtful sequencing. And elements of breath work & mediation are incorporated in practises, because they equally contribute to a happy healthy being. Through years of dedicated immersion into various fields of yoga (asana, meditation, pranayama) as well as studying anatomy, she aims to guide students to a more healthy and happy body experience.

Anita joins our studio with 16 years of yoga practice under her belt, so it comes as no great surprise that she would pursue swapping her role of devoted student to that of dedicated teacher. She has a desire to pass on the positive impacts her own practice has offered her in a physical, mental and spiritual context to others seeking any or all of these components. Passionate and inspired, in mid 2016 she travelled to Bali to complete a 200 hour teacher training with the highly acclaimed, Noah Maze and Amy Petty and has come away with a strong foundation in alignment style teaching. It is Anita’s enthusiasm and sense of exploration that she wishes to incorporate in her own teaching style, and assist others in developing and nurturing in their own practice. She has a real penchant for Focused Flow - combining gentle Vinyasa with exploring pose shapes, muscle actions and a path towards a particular pose.

Bec attended her very first yoga class here at the Yoga Therapies studio a little over 5 years ago and the rest is history! While Bec is a qualified personal trainer, she found her passion in yoga. The practice of yoga helped Bec to discover herself, build strength and confidence, all while finding solace and a home within the studio. Her passion for yoga lead her to undertake her yoga teacher training in 2015 with the aim of deepening her knowledge and sharing the gift of yoga with others. Bec is a firm believer in consistency to build on and reap the full benefit from practice. A combination of strong and gentle asana, meditation and pranayama is the formula that Bec follows in her own and her students practice. Bec teaches a dynamic Hatha Yoga practise, focusing on breath and body/energy awareness.
